Joens leads No. 15 Oklahoma women in romp over Texas Tech
NORMAN, Okla. -- — Aubrey Joens scored 23 points and had 11 rebounds off the bench and No. 15 Oklahoma throttled Texas Tech 84-57 on Wednesday night.
Liz Scott scored 13 points and made all six shot attempts, Madi Williams scored 12 and Nevaeh Tot had 11 for Oklahoma (21-4, 11-3 Big 12). Skylar Vann grabbed 10 rebounds and Joens made five of Oklahoma's 11 3-pointers.
Bailey Maupin scored 15 points off the bench for the Lady Raiders (16-10, 4-9). Breamber Scott added 12 points and Bryn Gerlich had 10.
Oklahoma built a 12-0 lead and led for the duration. Ana Llanusa made back-to-back 3 pointers for Oklahoma and Scott had three layups within the first two-and-a-half minutes before the Lady Raiders scored.
Texas Tech went on a 10-2 run to draw within 14-10, but Joens made three 3s to push the lead to 23-12 and the Sooners ended the quarter up 26-13. Texas Tech scored just nine points in the second quarter and trailed 40-22 at the break.
The Lady Raiders host Oklahoma State on Saturday. Oklahoma faces Kansas on the road on Sunday.
