Ekmark's 3-pointers help No. 17 Arizona State women
TEMPE, Ariz. -- Courtney Ekmark scored 17 points including a trio of fourth-quarter 3-pointers to help No. 17 Arizona State pull away from Fresno State 68-52 on Thursday for the Sun Devils' seventh consecutive victory.
Kianna Ibis added 15 points for the Sun Devils (9-2), whose only two losses came on a combined eight points to top-10 teams Baylor and Louisville.
Arizona State outscored its previous six opponents by an average of 27.5 points but led by only eight going into the fourth quarter against the Bulldogs (6-4). But Ekmark connected on a 3-pointer early in the final period to put the Sun Devils up by double figures for good with her final 3 giving Arizona State its largest lead of 16 with 2:48 remaining.
Aly Gamez scored 16 points and Candice White 15 for Fresno State.
Ibis scored 10 points in the first half when Arizona State took a 35-28 lead, leading the rest of the way after an Ekmark 3 with 3:13 left in the second quarter.
