Brunner, No. 23 Arizona St women beat Oral Roberts 79-52

TEMPE, Ariz. -- Sophie Brunner had 18 points, on 8-of-11 shooting, and 10 rebounds, Reili Richardson scored 11 with seven assists and No. 23 Arizona State never trailed in its 79-52 win over Oral Roberts on Saturday.

Kianna Ibis added 13 points and Quinn Dornstrauder scored 10 for Arizona State (8-2), which has won six in a row.

The Sun Devils scored the first six points and took a 20-9 lead on a pair of free throws by Robbi Ryan with 2:21 left in the first quarter. Oral Roberts trimmed its deficit to four early in the second but, a few minutes later, Ibis converted a 3-point play before Brunner made back-to-back layups to make it 42-28 and ASU led by at least nine the rest of the way.

Kaylan Mayberry had 12 points and five assists for Oral Roberts (7-5).

Arizona State made just 2 of 12 from 3-point range, but shot 56 percent overall and outrebounded the Golden Eagles 43-16.
