Jespersen scores 26, No. 20 USF women drop Cincinnati 72-52
TAMPA, Fla. -- Maria Jespersen hit her career high of 26 points for the third time this season and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead No. 20 South Florida to a 72-52 win over Cincinnati on Wednesday night.
Ariadna Pujol added 14 points and nine rebounds as the Bulls (18-3, 7-1 American) dominated the boards 53-30. Kitija Laksa added 11 points and Laia Flores had 10 assists.
USF turned 16 offensive rebounds into 17 second-chance points and had a 30-16 scoring advantage inside.
Ana Owens had 11 points and eight assists for the Bearcats (14-8, 5-4), who have lost eight straight in the series.
The Bulls used a 9-0 run in the third quarter to take the lead for good. They had another 9-0 run in the second to stretch a 19-13 lead to 37-25 by halftime. An 11-1 run in the third, with the last seven coming from Jespersen, made it 56-39 and the Bulls cruised to their 10th-straight home win in conference.
