Florida Gators vs Temple Owls
No. 19 Florida women overcome Temple 83-76
OCALA, Fla. -- Eleanna Christinaki scored 13 of her 21 points and Haley Lorenzen 10 of her 19 in the fourth quarter when No. 19 Florida rallied to beat Temple 83-76 on Saturday.
The Gators (3-0) trailed 56-49 after three quarters then shot 78.9 percent (15 of 19) in final period to overtake the Owls (2-1).
Ronni Williams added 18 points and Delicia Washington 10 points and nine rebounds for the Gators.
Feyonda Fitzgerald scored 19 points with nine assists with Donnaizha Fountain adding 15 points and Tanaya Atkinson 14 points and 13 rebounds for Temple.
Trailing by five, the Gators scored 14 straight points, including six apiece by Christinaki and Lorenzen to take a nine-point lead with 5:43 remaining. The Owls cut their deficit to five on Atkinson's basket with 1:14 to go but Christinaki answered with a jumper and free throw.
The game was held at Central Florida as the Gators are playing their first 12 games on the road with their arena undergoing renovation.
