No. 13 Stanford women beat Arizona 82-58
STANFORD, Calif. -- Erica McCall had 12 points and No. 13 Stanford used quick starts in both halves on Friday night to win its fifth straight, 82-58 over Arizona.
The Cardinal (20-5, 10-3 Pac-12) opened with a 17-2 run and started the third quarter with an 11-2 run to lead 52-23 with 6:03 left in the period.
Lili Thompson added 11 points and Kaylee Johnson 10 for Stanford, which had its largest lead at 78-44.
The Cardinal led 38-13 on Brittany McPhee's 3-pointer late in the second quarter before Arizona (11-14, 2-11) had its best run with eight straight points. McPhee hit another 3 before the half to send Stanford into the break with a 20-point lead.
JaLea Bennett and Michal Miller had 12 points each to lead the Wildcats.
It was Stanford's first time reaching 80 points in the conference season. The Cardinal host No. 9 Arizona State on Saturday night.
