No. 15 Northwestern clobbers Missouri-Kansas City 80-38
EVANSTON, Ill. -- Ashley Deary scored 10 of her 15 points in a monster third quarter as 15th-ranked Northwestern defeated Missouri-Kansas City 80-38 on Tuesday.
The Wildcats (11-1) forced 24 UMKC turnovers and had 27 assists on 33 field goals. Deary has scored in double digits in every game this season, and was one assist shy of her third double-double, with nine. She also had a hand in five of Northwestern's 12 steals.
Four Wildcats finished with double-figure scoring. Joining Deary was Maggie Lyon with 17, Nia Coffey with 13 and Christen Inman with 12.
Northwestern held the Kangaroos (4-7) to eight points in the first quarter, and led 35-20 by the half. In the third quarter, the Wildcats outscored UMKC 27-8 with an avalanche of 3-pointers and 3-point plays.
Deary hit all three of her 3-pointers in the third quarter.
Kristen Moore led UMKC with nine points.
