No. 24 Oklahoma women beat Texas Tech 70-60
LUBBOCK, Texas -- Gioya Carter made three 3-pointers and scored 15 points -- all in the second half -- and No. 24 Oklahoma beat Texas Tech 70-60 on Tuesday night to conclude Big 12 play.
Oklahoma (20-9, 11-7) hit the 20-win mark for the 14th time under coach Sherri Coale. They also won their 11th straight over Texas Tech.
Maddie Manning and Vionise Pierre-Louis each scored 11 points for Oklahoma. Peyton Little and T'ona Edwards added 10 points apiece.
Oklahoma had a 31-25 lead at halftime behind Manning's 11 points on 4-of-4 shooting. She finished 4 of 6 and tied a career-high with three 3-pointers.
Ivonne Cook-Taylor led Texas Tech (12-17, 3-15) with 18 points. Japreece Dean had 14 points and Ryann Bowser 13. The Lady Raiders have lost seven of their last eight.
Oklahoma, a No. 5 seed, will face fourth-seeded Oklahoma State (21-8) on Saturday in the Big 12 tournament.
