No. 22 Colorado State women rout Air Force 81-48
AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. -- Jamie Patrick scored 21 points and No. 22 Colorado State routed Air Force 81-48 Friday night to clinch the Mountain West Conference title and its 25th straight victory.
Patrick made five 3-poiners and was 8 of 13 from the field. Ellen Nystrom had 13 points and Elin Gustavsson chipped in 12 for the Rams (28-1, 18-0), who finished the program's second undefeated conference regular season.
Colorado State, which has the nation's second longest active win streak, earned a first round bye in the Mountain West Conference tournament.
Cortney Porter scored 13 points to lead Air Force (1-28, 1-17).
It was tied at 16 after the first quarter. The Rams outscored Air Force 24-9 in the second to build a 40-25 halftime lead and cruised from there.
Colorado State has the second-best record in school history, trailing the 1998-99 team that finished 31-1.
