Courtney Banghart becomes winningest coach in Princeton history
PRINCETON, N.J. -- Blake Dietrick scored 18 points, Annie Tarakchian added 16, and No. 14 Princeton remained the only unbeaten Division I women's team and made Courtney Banghart the winningest coach in school history with a 67-49 win over Yale on Friday.
Banghart, in her eighth season, has 164 wins, passing Joan Kowalik.
The Tigers (26-0, 10-0 Ivy League) took control early, racing to a 34-18 halftime lead. Tarakchian had the first five points in a 9-0 surge that became a 16-3 run. Dietrick scored the last five that made it 18-5 at the 12:53 mark.
Whitney Wyckoff, who had 18 points, scored seven straight points for the Bulldogs (12-13, 6-5) to cut the deficit to eight, but Tarakchian answered with a three-point play that started another 7-0 run for a 27-12 lead.
Princeton scored the last five points of the half and opened the second half with a 13-1 run to lead 51-19 with 13 minutes left.
