Arkansas women hold off No. 24 Georgia for 54-48 win
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Jessica Jackson scored five of her 15 points in the final 26 seconds to help the Arkansas women hold off No. 24 Georgia for a 54-48 win on Monday night.
Arkansas (14-8, 4-6 SEC) led by as many as 18 in the first half and Calli Berna's layup with 10 minutes left gave the Razorbacks a 49-25 advantage.
Georgia (17-7, 5-6), which lost its fourth in a row, cut its deficit to nine before Melissa Wolff's jumper -the last field goal Arkansas made -- pushed the lead to 49-38 with 7:08 to play.
Erika Ford's 3-pointer with 28 seconds remaining capped a 10-0 run and pulled the Bulldogs within one.
Jackson hit a pair of free throws, ended a scoring drought of nearly seven minutes, to give Arkansas a 51-48 lead.
Ford had a pair of 3-point attempts blocked on the other end before Georgia coach Andy Landers was hit with two technical fouls -- and ejected.
Jackson made three of the four technical free throws with nine seconds left to seal it.
