No. 18 Rutgers pushes past No. 25 Arkansas 64-52
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Kahleah Copper scored 17 points, Betnijah Laney added 12 with 11 rebounds and No. 18 Rutgers pushed past No. 25 Arkansas for a 64-52 victory on Sunday.
Tyler Scaife finished with 13 points, Rachel Hollivay chipped in 10 and Briyona Canty had six with eight assists and nine boards. Rutgers (7-1) shot 43.9 percent from the field, rebounding from a double overtime loss to sixth-ranked North Carolina.
Jessica Jackson led the Razorbacks (6-2) with 14 points, Jhasmin Brown added 13, and Melissa Wolff and Kelsey Brooks each scored 11. Jackson, Bowen and Wolff each grabbed eight rebounds for Arkansas, which was held to 18-of-64 shooting (28.1 percent).
The Scarlet Knights closed the first half with a 14-6 run sparked by two jumpers and a layup from Copper for a 36-24 lead at the break. Arkansas pulled within six in the second half, but Rutgers later countered with an 11-2 surge.
