Butler leads No. 25 Syracuse women over Boston College 73-51
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Brianna Butler had six 3-pointers with 22 points on Thursday and No. 25 Syracuse led by 33 on its way to a 73-51 victory over Boston College.
Syracuse (19-8, 9-5 ACC) opened the second half with a 23-7 run to lead 68-35 with 8:24 left. Boston College (12-14, 4-9) answered with 14 straight points but went scoreless over the final three minutes.
Butler finished 6 of 11 from 3-point range to set the program record for career 3-pointers with 231, passing Julie McBride (2001-04, 229). Butler had 20 points by intermission as the Orange built a 45-28 halftime lead. Diamond Henderson finished with 11 points.
Kelly Hughes had 19 points to lead Boston College, which trailed the entire way.
Syracuse opened the game on a 12-2 run and led by 20 in the first half.
