No. 12 Stanford women dominate 2nd half, top WSU 75-56
STANFORD, Calif. -- Amber Orrange scored 15 points, Erin McCall added 14 and No. 12 Stanford took control in the second half to beat Washington State 75-56 on Saturday.
Lili Thompson and Karlie Samuelson had 10 apiece for the Cardinal (16-5, 8-1 Pac 12), who are now 59-0 against the Cougars. WSU let a late 11-point lead slip away to lose in overtime in the last meeting.
Lia Galdeira had 18 points for Washington State (13-7, 4-5) and Mariah Cooks added 13 but Tia Presley was held to 4, 15 below her average, on 1-10 shooting.
The Cougars turned 13 Stanford turnovers into 14 points in the first half to lead 39-37 but in the second half Washington State made just 7 of 36 shots to finish at 30.8 percent.
Stanford shot 49 percent, outrebounded the Cougars 47-30 (Kailee Johnson had 11) and only had five turnovers in the second half.
