No. 25 Western Kentucky beats Old Dominion 76-60
NORFOLK, Va. -- Chastity Gooch scored 20 points and led three other Lady Toppers in double figures as No. 25 Western Kentucky cruised to a 76-60 victory over Old Dominion on Saturday.
Micah Jones scored 18 points, Alexis Govan finished with 17 and Ileana Johnson added 11 for Western Kentucky (14-2, 3-0 Conference USA). The Lady Toppers shot 8 of 18 from 3-point range en route to their 11th straight win.
Western Kentucky led by as many as 12 points in the first half, but the Lady Monarchs cut the difference to eight at the break. Old Dominion had 11 turnovers in the opening half and 19 by games end.
The Lady Monarchs rallied within six points with 10:08 left to play, but an 8-0 run put Western Kentucky back up by double figures the rest of the way.
Jennie Simms scored 26 points to lead Old Dominion (8-6, 1-2).
