No. 19 Oregon State beats Butler 85-53 in Hawaii
LAIE, Hawaii -- Ali Gibson scored 20 points and Sydney Wiese 19, with both hitting five 3-pointers, as No. 19 Oregon State rolled over Butler 85-53 on Thursday in the Tom Weston Invitational.
Jamie Weisner, who made a trio of 3-pointers, added 13 points for the Beavers (4-0).
Oregon State made 15 of 28 3-pointers with 11 coming on 16 attempts in the first half when the Beavers took a 49-31 lead. Gibson was 4 of 4 and Wiese 4 of 5 from long range in the opening 20 minutes.
Ijeoma Uchendu scored 12 points and Andriana Moore added 11 for the Bulldogs (0-6).
Wiese made a 3-pointer for a 5-2 lead less than 2 minutes into the game and Oregon State took off them there.
Oregon State finished shooting 55.4 percent from the floor, outrebounding the Bulldogs 43-31 and making nine steals, four by Wiese. Butler shot just 29.3 percent.
