Liam Broady has enjoyed every minute he has spent in the Wimbledon spotlight this week, but it hasn't been enough to heal a long-standing rift with his father.
The man whose beard now has its own Twitter account was in high spirits despite bowing out in the second round with a 7-6(3), 6-1, 6-1 defeat to Belgium's 16th seed David Goffin, yet has told his father Simon it's better if he stays away.
"I don't think he was [there], no," said Broady. "You know, he's my dad, he'll probably keep track of the scores and stuff I'm sure, because I am his son at the end of the day.
"I think it's best for me and for him that he stays away from the court."
Liam has been estranged from his father for three years after a dispute over accepting LTA funding. Simon had threatened to cut all ties with the LTA after they withdrew funding for Liam's sister Naomi following a row about the use of social media. The 21-year-old Liam no longer stays at the family's house in Greater Manchester.
Simon watched Naomi lose in the first round of the women's singles on Monday, but was not present for either of Liam's matches.
Still, while Broady's family issues have been given nearly as much attention as his dramatic victory against Marinko Matosevic on Monday, when he came back from two sets down to secure his first grand slam win, his bushy beard has also gained its own twitter account, much to his surprise.

"I've seen a bit of talk about my beard," he added. "I think I might give it a little trim, but I'll probably keep the majority of it.
"I've absolutely loved it. It's been fantastic," Liam added of his experiences this week. "You know, I felt at home, again, on court against David. He's 50 in the world, that first set, I felt fantastic.
"We were pretty even. He was a bit nervous maybe. I was a bit nervous. But off the ground, it was gruelling, as well. I have to get used to that because the very best guys play with incredible intensity.
"I've always said, I think I said before I played Marinko, and I said it after I played Marinko, I play well on the big stage, and again, before the match got away from me, I played well."
