Brazil's quality shone through as they beat India 4-0 at the Salt Lake stadium in Kolkata, thanks to a second-half brace from substitute Samuel Lino, while first half goals from Estêvão and Pedro saw Carlo Ancelotti's side walk away with the win.
Ancelotti pleased many of the fans inside a half-full Salt Lake stadium, by naming the likes of Vinicius Jr., Marquinhos and Estevao in his starting lineup.
Yet, it was India who held their own at the start - hitting Brazil on the counter-attack as Manvir Singh and Ryan Williams caused plenty of problems for the five-time world champions in the opening 27 minutes.
However, Estevao cut inside from the right and let fly from the edge of the box in the 28th minute, his low strike catching out Gurpreet Singh Sandhu at the near post as the ball squeezed under him.
The Indian goalkeeper was at fault for the second goal as well, as Estevao found Pedro with a clever ball from the right, and the Brazilian striker's shot from an angle was straight at Gurpreet, but squirmed through his palms to make it 2-0 in the 42nd minute.
India remained a threat on the counter in the second half, as Ryan Williams saw his shot cleared off the line, with Manvir also coming close.
However, India's capacity to gift the opposition goals also came to the fore in the 58th minute, as Bijoy Varghese gave the ball away while passing out of defence, and Samuel Lino pounced, before curling a beautiful shot into the bottom corner.
As the game progressed towards the end, Lino made it a brace late in injury time, rifling a low drive past Gill to make it 4-0.
