Commentary
Colombia are off and running on their return to the World Cup finals, soaring to the top of Group K following a 3-1 victory over tournament debutants Uzbekistan. Los Cafeteros, who registered an xG of 1.62 to their opponents' 1.16, dominated large periods of the first half. Arias fired narrowly wide and Diaz struck the post before they took the lead in the 40th minute. Diaz clipped a lovely ball into the box, where Munoz swivelled and sent a superb volley flying into the net. Uzbekistan failed to register a single touch in the opposing box during the first half. However, they equalised against the run of play on the hour mark, with Fayzullaev heading into an empty net after Shomurodov's initial volley was blocked. Yet Colombia regained their lead just five minutes later, as Diaz rounded off a swift counter with his shot creeping beyond Yusupov, whose weak palm couldn't keep it out. Lorenzo's side put the contest to bed deep into stoppage time, when Hernandez's wonderful cross was powered home by the head of fellow substitute Campaz. Colombia have momentum going into their second Group K game against DR Congo on June 23, with Uzbekistan requiring drastic improvement before facing Portugal on the same day. That's all for now. Thanks for your company. Until next time, goodbye!
FULL-TIME: UZBEKISTAN 1-3 COLOMBIA
WHAT A HIT! Uzbekistan seek a consolation and Karimov lets fly from distance. It's a thunderous hit, and he's so unlucky to see his shot rattle the crossbar with Vargas beaten.
Hernandez did magnificently to dig out that cross, which was a striker's dream and begging to be attacked.

3-1!!! GAME OVER! CAMPAZ SEALS IT AT THE DEATH! He owes a great deal of gratitude to Hernandez, though. The latter chases a long ball and does superbly to maintain possession, having initially gone to ground. He manages to whip a delicious ball across the face of goal, where Campaz is on hand to head home. That will surely be that!
Once again, the quality of delivery is severely lacking for the White Wolves, with their free-kick aimlessly floating behind for a goal-kick. Colombia will be in no hurry to restart the game.
