News: 11 hours agoJones rushed 25 times for 113 yards and a touchdown and brought in all three targets for four yards in the Vikings' 23-13 win over the Saints on Sunday.
Spin: Jones continued handling the workhorse role in Minnesota's backfield, and he finished Sunday's contest with a new season high in carries despite exiting the game for a spell due to a leg issue. Jones added his second rushing touchdown of the season on an eight-yard run early in the fourth quarter, while the 100-yard effort was his second of the campaign. Sunday marked Jones' backfield mate Jordan Mason's fourth absence while on injured reserve due to a thumb injury, and it remains to be seen if the latter will be ready to suit up and put a dent in Jones' opportunities during a Week 7 home matchup against the Colts on Sunday, Oct. 25, following a Week 6 bye.
ESPN Fantasy Projection: Jones is back for a third season in Minnesota after an injury-plagued 2025 campaign limited him to 747 yards (his fewest since his rookie season in 2017) and three touchdowns in 12 games. Jones remained fairly busy (11.0 carries and 3.4 targets per game) but didn't perform well, ranking dead last among 65 backs with 50-plus carries in forced missed tackle rate and elusive rating, per PFF. Jones failed to record a single top-10 fantasy outing. Now 31 years old, Jones remains a starter and will get some run, but he's well past his prime and unlikely to return to consistent fantasy output. Jones is best valued as a bench player with occasional flex appeal.
