Bryant, Spurs roll in blowout of Knicks

Carter Bryant scored a game-high 19 points to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 70-49 victory over the New York Knicks in NBA summer league action Saturday at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The Spurs' defense stifled the Knicks from the outset, holding them to just seven points in the second quarter and 17 in the first half to secure San Antonio's win in Las Vegas.

Rookie Ja'Kobi Gillespie, the 42nd pick in the second round of the 2026 draft, contributed an all-around performance for San Antonio with 14 points, five rebounds and a game-high five assists. Tarris Reed Jr., the 26th pick in the first round, controlled the glass with a game-high nine rebounds to go with his five points, while fellow rookie Maliq Brown, the 44th pick, added eight points and eight boards.

The Knicks struggled to find an offensive rhythm, shooting just 26.5% from the field. Tyler Nickel, the 47th pick, was a bright spot, leading the team with 16 points and hitting four 3-pointers. Pacome Dadiet contributed 13 points, and rookie Jack Kayil, the 39th pick, added 12 points and five rebounds in his summer league debut.

Bryant's aggressive play set the tone. He shot an efficient 7-for-10 from the field and added two blocks. San Antonio never trailed, building a lead as large as 22 points.
