Demetrious Johnson seeks 9th title defense vs. Wilson Reis at UFC 201

Less than one month removed from his latest dominant title defense, UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson has agreed to face Wilson Reis at UFC 201 on July 30 in Atlanta.

UFC Tonight announced the 125-pound championship fight on Wednesday. The bout will co-headline the event, which will take place at Philips Arena and also be available on pay-per-view.

Johnson (24-2), 29, is coming off his eighth title defense, a first-round TKO against Henry Cejudo at UFC 197 last month. Johnson is two title defenses away from tying former middleweight champion Anderson Silva's all-time UFC mark of 10 in a row. Since winning the title in 2012, Johnson has recorded finishes in five of his eight successful defenses.

ESPN.com ranks Johnson, who fights out of Kirkland, Washington, the No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world. Should he defeat Reis, his next fight is expected to be against the winner of an upcoming season of "The Ultimate Fighter" reality series.

Reis (20-6) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Dustin Ortiz in January. A Brazilian flyweight, Reis is 4-2 in the UFC, and all but one of his UFC bouts have gone the distance.

A welterweight title fight between Robbie Lawler (27-10) and Tyron Woodley (15-3) will headline UFC 201.
