CHARLESTON, S.C. -- — Kobe Rodgers scored 19 points as Charleston (SC) beat Monmouth 94-83 on Saturday night.
Rodgers had five rebounds for the Cougars (13-4, 4-0 Coastal Athletic Association). Frankie Policelli scored 16 points and added seven rebounds. Ante Brzovic had 12 points and was 5 of 13 shooting, including 0 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 2 for 7 from the line. The Cougars picked up their ninth straight win.
The Hawks (9-8, 2-2) were led in scoring by Xander Rice, who finished with 34 points and six rebounds. Jack Collins added 16 points, six rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks for Monmouth. In addition, Nikita Konstantynovskyi finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Both teams next play Thursday. Charleston (SC) hosts Towson and Monmouth squares off against Drexel on the road.
