LEWISTON, N.Y. -- — Mervin James had 24 points in Rider's 71-61 win over Niagara on Friday night.
James had five rebounds for the Broncs (13-16, 10-8 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). JT Langston Jr. shot 7 of 10 from the field to add 16 points. Tariq Ingraham had nine points and shot 4 of 15 from the field.
The Purple Eagles (14-13, 10-7) were led by Quandre Bullock, who posted 15 points. Ahmad Henderson II added 12 points for Niagara. In addition, Yaw Obeng-Mensah had 11 points.
Both teams next play Sunday. Rider visits Canisius and Niagara squares off against Mount St. Mary's at home.
