LAKE CHARLES, La. -- — Javohn Garcia had 22 points in McNeese's 74-65 win against SE Louisiana on Saturday night.
Garcia was 7 of 10 shooting, including 4 for 5 from 3-point range, and went 4 for 4 from the line for the Cowboys (14-2, 3-0 Southland Conference). Shahada Wells scored 20 points and added seven assists and five steals. Christian Shumate shot 4 of 8 from the field and 4 for 9 from the line to finish with 12 points. The Cowboys picked up their ninth straight victory.
Alec Woodard led the Lions (6-10, 1-2) in scoring, finishing with 20 points. Roger McFarlane added 13 points, 11 rebounds and five assists for SE Louisiana. In addition, Nick Caldwell had 13 points.
