Walker with 20 points, Air Force beats Missouri State 88-69
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- A.J. Walker scored 20 points on six 3-pointers and Air Force beat Missouri State 88-69 on Wednesday night.
Ameka Akaya added 14 points for the Falcons (3-4). Chris Joyce and Ryan Swan each added 12 points, and Lavelle Scottie chipped in with 11. Keaton Van Soelen grabbed a game-high eight rebounds, and Akaya, Walker, Swan and Scottie added three boards apiece.
Air Force shot 58 percent from the field compared to 48 percent for Missouri State.
The Falcons inched ahead early in the first half and back-to-back 3-pointers by Walker and Caleb Morris followed by a Swan jumper made it 26-14 with 11:19 to go. Three more 3s by Walker and a fourth by Akaya extended the Falcons' lead to 40-19 with 6:55 left before halftime and they were up 47-38 at the break.
Missouri State got as close as 69-60 midway through the second half.
Tulio Da Silva scored 22 points and grabbed three rebounds for the Bears (3-4).
