Taylor leads Fresno State to 82-79 OT win over Colorado St.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Deshon Taylor scored 22 points, including nine in the extra period, to lead Fresno State to an 82-79 overtime win over Colorado State on Saturday night.
The Bulldogs (12-5, 2-2 Mountain West) opened the overtime on a 6-0 run to take a 75-69 lead with 1:16 to play. Taylor took a mid-court steal in for a solo dunk, making it 79-74 with 22 seconds left. The Rams (8-9, 1-3) replied with a J.D. Paige 3-pointer and a Lorenzo Jenkins tip shot to close to 81-79 with six seconds left but Fresno State held on for the win.
Late in the second half, Ray Bowles Jr. drained a long 3-pointer to give the Bulldogs a 69-66 edge and Jenkins answered with a 3-point play to tie it 69-all. Both teams missed 3-pointers in the final 10 seconds, forcing the overtime.
Bryson Williams and Jahmel Taylor had 13 points apiece for Fresno State. Bowles finished with 12.
Prentiss Nixon led the Rams with 21 points.
