Miller's 25 helps North Dakota State top Omaha 73-58
FARGO, N.D. -- Paul Miller scored 25 points, including five 3-pointers, and Tyson Ward added 17 points as North Dakota State beat Omaha 73-58 on Thursday night.
Miller became just the 12th player in NDSU history to reach 1,500 career points.
The Bison (11-10, 3-3 Summit League) conceded the lead just twice. Things were close before a 16-0 NDSU run featuring two dunks and a 3-pointer from Ward pushed its lead to 17 late in the first half. The Mavericks (7-16, 2-5) got back within eight using a 9-0 run of their own, but two Miller free throws put the Bison up by 10 at the half.
In the second half, Omaha was unable to close the margin to single digits, and NDSU stretched their lead to as much as 19.
The Bison were 10 of 10 from the free-throw line, and held a 27-10 advantage in bench points.
Daniel Norl led the Mavericks with 13 points.
