Pacific nearly perfect at foul line with win over San Diego
STOCKTON, Calif. -- Miles Reynolds scored 17 points, Jack Williams scored 13 and Pacific defeated San Diego 74-70 on Thursday night.
Pacific shot (8-10, 3-2 West Coast Conference) shot just 36 percent (18 of 50) but only missed two of 35 foul shots. Reynolds made all nine of his free throws and Williams was 8 of 8 at the line. Jahlil Tripp and Roberto Gallinat each scored 10 for the Tigers and Pacific took care of the ball with only eight turnovers.
Isaiah Pineiro made a 3-pointer and a jumper in succession for the Toreros last lead, 39-38. Pacific took the lead for good with an 11-2 run as Tripp scored seven straight.
Isaiah Wright's layup with 5:53 left reduced the deficit to 51-46 but San Diego (12-4, 3-1) couldn't get closer. Pineiro scored 23 points, Tyler Williams finished with 20 and Wright, 13.
