Utah State drops Mountain West-leading Nevada 74-57
LOGAN, Utah -- Koby McEwen had 19 of his 26 points in the final 12 minutes and Utah State knocked off conference-leading Nevada 74-57 on Wednesday night.
The Aggies (10-11, 4-6 Mountain West) made 11 of their last 13 shots and had an 18-6 run on their way to closing out the win. The Wolf Pack (18-5, 7-3) dropped into a first-place tie with Boise State.
Utah State trailed by one with 13 1/2 minutes left before a 22-9 run to lead 54-42 on Jalen Moore's pair of free throws with 6:43 left.
Nevada made just one of its last nine shots and got only two points from its leading scorer Marcus Marshall (20.2 ppg).
Sam Merrill and Jalen Moore had 13 points each for Utah State. Moore also grabbed 15 rebounds and Alexis Dargenton had 13 boards.
D.J. Fenner and Jordan Caroline had 15 points apiece and Cameron Oliver had 14 points and 13 rebounds.
