Butler has little trouble in 91-55 win over Norfolk State
INDIANAPOLIS -- Nate Fowler scored 17 points and Butler dominated nearly every aspect of the game in a 91-55 win over Norfolk State in a Las Vegas Invitational campus game on Monday night.
The remainder of the tournament will shift to Las Vegas for the final two rounds on Thursday and Friday.
Fowler finished an economical 6 of 7 from the field and grabbed a team-best seven rebounds. Avery Woodson finished with 15 points for the Bulldogs (4-0), who shot 58.2 percent to the Spartans 31.4 percent. Butler also held a 35-28 lead on the glass and a 26-8 advantage in assists.
Jonathan Wade and Micah Goss each had 13 points to lead Norfolk State (2-3).
Butler outscored the Spartans 36-12 over the final 10:56 of the first half for a 50-24 halftime lead. A Fowler 3 with 13:58 left pushed the lead to 66-26 and Butler cruised from there.
