TOWSON, Md. -- Mike Morsell scored 21 points, John Davis added 12 points and Towson held off a late rally to beat Loyola (Md.) 70-53 on Wednesday night.

Morsell scored 20-plus for the fifth time this season.

Towson led by 32 points in the second half but Loyola pulled to 57-41 after an 18-2 run over a six-minute span. The Greyhounds got within 11 points after Chancellor Barnard's free throw with 3:47 to go but they couldn't get any closer.

Arnaud William Adala Moto and Alex Thomas each added 11 points for Towson (5-4), which won consecutive games over the Greyhounds for the first time since 2007.

Morsell scored 11 of Towson's first 26 points as it built a 12-point lead with 6:50 left in the first half. Davis knocked down a 3-pointer to give Towson its largest halftime lead of the season at 41-17.

Jarred Jones led Loyola (4-5) with 13 points and Cam Gregory had 10 points and eight rebounds.
