Butler coasts to 86-60 win over Bucknell
INDIANAPOLIS -- Tyler Wideman and Avery Woodson each scored 14 points and Butler faced little resistance from Bucknell, as the Bulldogs cruised to an 86-60 win on Saturday.
The game was the opening round of the Las Vegas Invitational, with first and second round games played at campus locations before shifting to Las Vegas for the semifinals and finals.
Both Wideman and Woodson had efficient afternoons shooting. Wideman finished 6 of 8 from the field while Woodson shot 5 of 7.
Kelan Martin added 13 points and six rebounds for Butler (3-0), which shot 62.1 percent from the field.
Nana Foulland paced Bucknell (2-2) with 16 points.
Butler leapt out to an 18-6 lead and held a 44-33 lead at halftime. Andrew Chrabascz drilled a 3-pointer to open the second half and a Martin jumper with 15:08 left pushed the Bulldogs lead to 20 ( 57-37).
