UMass-Lowell dominates Maine in 100-68 blowout win
LOWELL, Mass. -- Ryan Jones scored 25 points and Jahad Thomas scored 12 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists and Massachusetts-Lowell controlled Maine from the outset for a 100-68 win on Thursday night.
UMass-Lowell (11-16, 5-7 America East) led all the way and built an early 22-7 lead. Maine went on a 13-2 run to shave the deficit to four points with Wesley Myers' 3-pointer with 6:49 before halftime. But Tyler Livingston followed with a pair of layups and Jahad Thomas dunk made it 31-20 and the River Hawks took at 41-28 halftime lead.
Out of the break, Livingston made back-to-back 3s, Matt Harris added a 3 and Thomas had another dunk and UMass-Lowell led 55-30. The lead grew to 30 when Rinardo Perry laid it in with 16:07 left to play.
Matt Harris scored 23 points on 7-for-9 shooting and Livingston finished with 14 points.
Myers led Maine (6-21, 2-10) with 11 points and Austin Howard finished with 10 points.
