Pancake Thomas scores 22 in Western Kentucky victory
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Pancake Thomas scored 22 points and Western Kentucky beat Indiana State 77-59 on Sunday.
Thomas, a graduate transfer, posted his career high as a Hilltopper. Que Johnson added 15 points, Justin Johnson 14 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, Junior Lomomba 12 points and Anton Waters 10 rebounds. The Hilltoppers shot 53.2 percent and were 8 of 14 from the arc.
WKU (4-5) won for the first time in the fifth game of a seven-game road trip.
Brenton Scott scored 17 points for the Sycamores (5-5), who made only 2 of 24 3-point tries in having a three-game winning streak snapped.
The 16-point loss was easily the Sycamores' largest margin of defeat this season with their other four losses coming by three points or fewer.
WKU led 35-31 at halftime and didn't pull away until a 16-2 run put them ahead 70-54 with under three minutes left.
