Wallace, Bowles lead Pacific past Kennesaw State, 69-56
STOCKTON, Calif. -- T.J. Wallace and Ray Bowles combined to score 38 points and Pacific knocked off Kennesaw State in the Tigers' final game of the Gotham Classic Tuesday night.
The Tigers led by three at intermission but pushed their lead to double digits on Anthony Townes' layup four minutes into the second half.
Wallace finished with 20 points in 7-of-15 shooting while grabbing five rebounds and dishing off four assists. Bowles was 6 of 10 from the field, including 4 of 5 from distance, to finish with 18 points.
The Tigers held a 36-29 edge on the boards and Pacific, under first-year coach Damon Stoudamire, ranks 18th nationally in rebounds per game.
Kendrick Ray finished with 22 points to lead Kennesaw State (3-9) in the first-ever meeting between the schools.
Pacific (5-7) had its five-game home win streak snapped Dec. 17 by Fresno State in a 70-68 overtime loss.
