San Francisco beats Sacramento State 77-59
CHENEY, Wash. -- Chase Foster scored a career-high 18 points and grabbed six rebounds as San Francisco notched its fourth-straight win, beating Sacramento State 77-59 in the EWU Classic on Saturday.
Marquill Smith added 12 points for the unbeaten Dons (4-0). Nate Renfro and Jordan Ratinho had 10 points apiece. Ronnie Boyce, who came in leading the West Coast Conference with an average of 28 points a game, scored just six points.
A Foster 3-pointer capped an 11-0 run to open the game for San Francisco (Sacramento State didn't score until over six minutes had elapsed) and the Dons had a 39-30 edge at the break.
Ratinho and Remu Raitanen combined for three 3-pointers in just over a minute to push San Francisco's advantage to 51-36 with 16:02 to play and the Dons led by double digits the rest of the way.
Nick Hornsby led the Hornets (1-4) with 20 points and nine rebounds.
