Harvey leads McNeese St. to 87-76 win over New Orleans
LAKE CHARLES, La. -- James Harvey was 5 of 8 from beyond the arc to tie his career high of 23 points as McNeese State stopped a three-game losing skid, beating New Orleans 87-76 on Thursday night.
Jamaya Burr had 18 points, four assists and three steals for McNeese State (6-15, 4-7 Southland Conference). Jarren Greenwood had 13 points and Craig McFerrin added 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Cowboys.
Harvey nailed two straight treys to start the game and the Cowboys led 21-13 midway of the first half but New Orleans charged back to lead 46-43 at the break. Burr and Harvey started the second half with 3-point jumpers and the Cowboys took the lead for good.
Erik Thomas had 17 points to lead New Orleans (8-14, 4-7), which has lost the last two games after winning three straight. Michael Zeno added 13 points.
