Sacred Heart beats Fairleigh Dickinson 91-86 behind Broome
TEANECK, N.J. -- Cane Broome scored a career-high 39 points on 10-of-21 shooting with four 3-pointers and Sacred Heart held off Fairleigh Dickinson 91-86 on Saturday night to win their third straight.
Trailing 45-44 at halftime, the Knights rallied to a 63-61 lead on a layup by Earl Potts Jr. with 12:52 left, trailed, then led 69-64 on Darian Anderson's free throw.
Chris Robinson tied it at 81 with a layup amid an 11-2 run and the Pioneers regained the lead, 85-83 on Tevin Falzon's bucket with 1:34 left. Broome's jumper and two free throws gave Sacred Heart an 89-83 edge and he iced it with two free throws with 7 seconds left.
Falzon scored 16 points and blocked four shots, and Jordan Allen and Quincy McKnight added 12 apiece for the Pioneers (11-16, 10-6 Northeast), who made 24 of 37 free throws.
Stephan Jiggetts scored a career-high 27, Anderson had 18 and Potts 14 for the Knights (13-14, 9-7).
