Siena defeats Rider 63-52 on Ogunyemi's 19 points
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Javion Ogunyemi scored 19 points, grabbed six rebounds and blocked three shots as Siena clamped down to defeat Rider 63-52 on Thursday night, the fewest points Siena has allowed in nearly two years.
Rider led 48-47 with eight minutes left but a 4-point play by Nico Clareth, who hit a 3 and was fouled with 6:46 remaining, swung the lead and the game to the Saints as Rider scored just four more points.
The 6-foot-8 Ogunyemi shot 5 of 8 from the field and converted 9 of 10 free throws, where the Saints (12-7, 5-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) were 16 of 23, while holding Rider to 37-percent shooting (20-54). Clareth finished with 14 points and four 3-pointers.
Rider (6-13, 2-6) was led by Khalil Alford's 16 points and 14 from Teddy Okereafor.
