Monmouth hits 18 FTs in OT, beats Saint Peter's 82-75
JERSEY CITY, N.J. -- Justin Robinson made two free throws to tie it at the end of regulation and Monmouth made all 18 of its free-throw attempts in overtime -- for its only points -- in an 82-75 victory over Saint Peter's on Sunday.
Robinson scored 10 of his 22 points in the extra session.
Micah Seaborn hit all seven of his free throws and scored 26 points for Monmouth (23-6, 15-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), which remained atop the standings. The Hawks hit 29 of 34 free throws, including being perfect on their last 24.
Antwon Portley scored 27 points for Saint Peter's (12-15, 10-8) and Trevis Wyche added 24. Portley hit five of the Peacocks' 12 3-pointers and Wyche sank three.
It was knotted at 28-all at halftime as each team hit five 3-pointers in the frame. Portley had 14 points for Saint Peter's and Seaborn led Monmouth with 13.
