Emegano scores 26 to help Oral Roberts beat Denver 62-58
TULSA, Okla. -- Obi Emegano scored 26 with eight rebounds, and Albert Owens added 15 and eight to help Oral Roberts beat Denver 62-58 Friday night.
Emegano hit all of his 14 free-throw attempts, including four in the final eight seconds. Brandon Conley had 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting for Oral Roberts.
The Golden Eagles (14-14, 6-8 Summit League) led by 10 with 13 minutes to go, but Denver chipped away before tying it at 54 on a 3 by Marcus Byrd with 1:27 remaining.
Owens hit a jumper and then a layup to put Oral Roberts up four with 19 seconds left.
Nine seconds later, Joe Rosga made two free throws to pull the Pioneers (13-14, 5-9) within two, but Emegano's free throws sealed it.
Byrd and Rosga led Denver with 15 points apiece. C.J. Bobbitt added 13.
Oral Roberts made 20 of 23 foul shots while the Pioneers hit 13 of 14.
