Fairfield pulls out 84-80 double-OT win over Quinnipiac
HAMDEN, Conn. -- Curtis Cobb scored 19 points, including a game-clinching 3-point play in the second overtime, and Fairfield beat Quinnipiac 84-80 on Saturday.
Jerome Segura's free throw gave the Stags (14-11, 8-7 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) an 81-79 lead. Chaise Daniels made 1 of 2 free throws and Quinnipiac had possession again but missed two shots before turning the ball over on a five-second violation. Cobb missed two 3-pointers but Jonathan Kasibabu snagged the rebound on the second miss and fed Cobb inside.
Fairfield had the last possession in regulation and first overtime but missed shots. The lead changed hands 23 times.
Marcus Gilbert had 17 points to move into seventh on Fairfield's career scoring list at 1,546. Matija Milin added 18 points.
Daniels had a career-high 28 points for the Bobcats (8-16, 5-10), who had 27 turnovers. Abdulai Bundu had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Daniel Harris also had 16 points.
