Buffalo rallies for 80-70 win over Eastern Michigan
BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Blake Hamilton scored 14 points, Lamonte Bearden added 14 more and Buffalo rallied in the second half to slip past Eastern Michigan for an 80-70 win Saturday.
Trailing most of the game, Buffalo (14-9, 7-3 Mid-American) edged into its first lead late in the second half with a 12-3 burst capped with a pair of free throws from CJ Massinburg to make it 66-64 with 3:57 left. Buffalo held off Eastern Michigan (11-12, 3-7) the rest of the way, sealing the win with an 8-0 run over the final 1:41 to win its fourth straight.
Massinburg and Rodell Wigginton finished with 12 points apiece for the Bulls, who shot 37 percent from the field but went 28 for 38 from the foul line to Eastern Michigan's 18 of 23.
James Thompson IV led five Eastern Michigan players in double figures with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
