UC Santa Barbara cruises to 81-55 win over UC Riverside
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Michael Bryson scored 16 points on 5-for-10 shooting to lead UC Santa Barbara to an 81-55 win over UC Riverside on Thursday night.
John Green added 14 points, including four 3-pointers, for Santa Barbara (16-12, 10-5 Big West) and Gabe Vincent had 11 points. The Gauchos shot 53 percent from the field (29-55) and hit 12 of 24 from long range to extend their win streak to seven, a record for the program since joining the Big West.
Santa Barbara never trailed but didn't break away until the second half, when Sam Beeler dropped in a layup to spark a 21-3 run that made it 61-38 with 12:24 left. Bryson, Vincent and Green each had 3-pointers during the run.
Riverside (14-17, 5-10) stayed close in the first half, pulling to within a point three times.
Gentrey Thomas, Jaylen Bland and Menno Dijkstra led Riverside with 10 points apiece.
