Louisiana Tech cruises to 82-49 victory over LSU Shreveport
RUSTON, La. -- Alex Hamilton had 18 points and six assists, and Louisiana Tech stretched its home winning streak to 35 games with an 82-49 victory over LSU Shreveport of the NAIA on Tuesday night.
Hamilton was 8 of 10 from the field. Dayon Griffin scored a career-high 14 points and Erik McCree added 11 for Louisiana Tech (7-1), which improved to 5-0 at home this season. The Bulldogs entered the game tied with the nation's third longest home-winning streak.
Nevin Johnson had 17 points and Josh Walker 11 for LSU Shreveport.
A 9-0 surge stretched the Bulldogs lead to 35-12 with five minutes left in the first half. The Pilots answered with a 14-6 spurt to pull to 41-28 at halftime.
Griffin made two 3-pointers early in the second half and the Bulldogs lead to 50-31 with 16 minutes left.
