UNC Asheville cruises to 67-55 victory over Presbyterian
ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Dylan Smith scored 17 points; Dwayne Sutton added 15 and UNC Asheville never trailed in a 67-55 victory over Presbyterian on Saturday night.
Sam Hughes chipped in 13 points for UNC Asheville (14-7, 7-2 Big South).
Will Adams scored nine of his 11 points in the first half to lead Presbyterian (8-12, 3-6). DeSean Murray added 10 points.
UNC Asheville opened on a 15-3 run and built a 37-30 halftime lead. Darius Moore made a 3-pointer to pull the Blue Hose to 46-45 with 10:43 remaining. The Bulldogs answered with a 17-2 run and led 63-47 with 2:40 to play. Sutton scored five points, and the Blue Hose missed seven shots and committed eight turnovers during the stretch.
The Bulldogs forced 21 turnovers. Smith and Hughes led with four steals apiece.
