ALBANY, N.Y. -- Peter Hooley scored 14 points with four assists and four rebounds as Albany (NY) held on to beat St. Francis (Pa) 65-58 on Saturday night.
Evan Singletary added 13 points and five rebounds for the Great Danes (8-4). Joe Cremo had 10 points and Mike Rowley had eight points and eight rebounds. The team had a 41-32 rebounding edge over St. Francis.
Richard Peters hit three layups and Singletary sank another to put Albany on top, 15-13, with 11:27 to go before the break and the Great Danes led 34-32 at halftime.
Singletary, Peters, Cremo, Hooley and Rowley continued to strike from inside the paint during the second half and Singletary sank a 3-pointer to extend Albany's lead to 58-47 with 5:04 to play and the Great Danes held on for the win.
Greg Brown led the Red Flash (4-6) with 23 points and five assists.
