BALTIMORE -- Rasean Simpson scored 18 points with 13 rebounds and Morgan State trounced Coppin State 83-43 on Monday night.
Simpson hit 6 of 12 from the field and 6 of 8 from the line for the Bears (5-15, 3-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Kyle Thomas scored 13 points, Antonio Gillespie had 12 and Andre Horne added 11.
Christian Kessee led Coppin State with nine points, and Terry Harris grabbed 10 rebounds. The Eagles shot just 27.5 percent, including 4 of 22 from beyond the arc, and were outrebounded 52-35.
Morgan State led by nine after 3 1/2 minutes and rolled to a 40-18 advantage at the break. The Bears had 18 points in the paint and 13 points off the fast break after 20 minutes.
The lead reached 30 on a 3-pointer by Gillespie with 11:50 to go.
