UTEP gets 1st road win, beats FIU 84-74
MIAMI -- Omega Harris and Lee Moore had 20 points apiece as UTEP picked up its first road win of the season, knocking off Florida International 84 -74 on Thursday night.
UTEP (14-11, 6-6 Conference USA), which had to come from behind for its last two victories, took a 45-37 lead into the break and was up 71-54 midway in the second half.
The Miners, who now have won three straight after dropping three in a row, shot 56 percent from the floor, making 11 of 19 from beyond the arc, while holding FIU to 26-of-53 shooting.
Harris was 5 of 7 from long range and Moore hit 4 of 5 from distance. Earvin Morris added 15 points and Terry Winn chipped in 11. Dominic Artis dished out 10 assists.
Elmo Stephen had 18 points and Donte McGill added 16 for FIU (11-14, 5-7), which has lost five straight games.
